The name "Marie" came to me after an encounter with God. It wasn’t just any name; it was the name of my biological mother, whom I never had the chance to meet.
The journey of Marie's Pecan Candy is a wild ride of passion meeting purpose. Founder Jennifer Rodney started out simply enjoying the process: she loves cooking and seeing people enjoy her treats. Before she knew it, that simple joy turned into something huge!
After officially launching in June 2024, the business totally blew up. It went viral on TikTok and even snagged some unexpected funding from a local radio station. That success let Jennifer scale her woman-owned brand and start getting her sweet, southern treats to a much bigger crowd.
This business is much deeper than just sweets. The name "Marie" came to Jennifer as a special way to honor her biological mother, whom she sadly never got to meet. The entire brand is truly built on faith, love, and the belief that something beautiful can come from every story, even the complicated ones.
Jennifer will tell you that she couldn't have done any of it without her husband. His constant encouragement and quiet strength have been her rock through all the ups and downs of entrepreneurship.
Jennifer's passion is rooted in her own journey: she was in foster care at three days old. Today, she is a dedicated advocate for foster care kids and dreams of starting speaking engagements and writing a book to help others like her. Ultimately, Marie's Pecan Candy is the platform that supports this larger, heartfelt mission - it's a true labor of love, delivered in every single handcrafted piece.
