Named 2024's WBE Rising Star of the Year, Clark has transformed her pandemic-era startup into an award-winning freight management enterprise, tripling her business and expanding from a solo operation to a team of four. We talk about her entrepreneurial journey, the power of resilience, and how faith and family values shape her approach to creating opportunities in logistics.

What was the first thing that crossed your mind when the lockdown happened in 2020?
When the lockdown happened in 2020, the first thing that crossed my mind was, “How will this impact my business and family?” I had just started Resilient Freight Solutions, and I wondered whether the logistics industry would grind to a halt or become busier. I knew I had to stay adaptable and resilient to navigate the uncertainty ahead.
What were your expectations when you started her business versus the reality you had to face?
When I started my business, I expected it to be a side hustle that would grow steadily over time. I envisioned building a client base while keeping my W2 job for stability. The reality was much more challenging—launching a business right before a global pandemic meant constant uncertainty. However, the logistics industry’s importance during that time became more evident, and I had to pivot quickly to keep things moving.
What made you stay the course?
Faith, family, and determination kept me on course. I believe every challenge happens for a greater purpose. My brother, who is a truck driver, inspired me to start in logistics, and my family continues to motivate me to succeed. Seeing the potential for growth and knowing that I could create opportunities for others pushed me to keep going, even when it was tough.
What are three biggest business lessons you’ve learned since you started Resilient Freight Solutions?
Adaptability is key: The ability to pivot quickly and embrace change has been crucial to my success.
Invest in relationships: Building strong relationships with clients, carriers, and my trusted network has helped create a foundation of trust and collaboration.
Resilience pays off: Entrepreneurship is not a straight path, but staying focused and believing in your vision makes all the difference.
