Lifting as We Climb: Celebrating 10 Years of Mygani & Curls and Convo

Tolu Akindunni

As we transition from #BlackHistoryMonth to #WomensHistoryMonth 2025, I want to take a moment to celebrate Felicia Wright, founder of Mygani LLC.

Ten years ago, Felicia launched Curls and Convo to instill self-confidence in women and girls of color, embracing all hair textures and skin tones. Last month, she marked a decade of excellence and the magic of Black culture.

Our paths first crossed at the 2022 NAWBO Virtual Women’s Business Conference, where two Black women entrepreneurs discovered shared values and vision while hosting virtual booths for our businesses. I was immediately drawn to her beautifully illustrated accessories that empower women of color.

Felicia was among the first to join our All Things Black and Beautiful community, signing up for the business directory—marking the start of a powerful partnership.

From featuring Mygani’s exceptional products in our e-shop and pop-ups to deeper collaborations, our connection has grown beyond business. When Felicia stepped up to mentor aspiring entrepreneurs at the Prosperity Bank 2024 Business Masterclass in South Dallas, she showed what it means to uplift others on the same journey.

10th Annual Curls and Convo, February 8, 2025

This year, I was proud to sponsor young girls to attend the 2025 Curls and Convo event on February 8—because community isn’t just about business; it’s about creating opportunities for the next generation.

True success is built on collaboration and community. Here’s to Felicia, to ten years of impact, and to the power of women supporting women!!
